Day Fourteen - Quiz, an old photo and an odd boat
Is it really two weeks since this whole things started!?!?
Today was another mellow day, with Michael and I busy on our computers.
It dawned a beautiful morning, then drizzled gently around midday.
It came out nice again in the late afternoon/early evening.
I didn't get to the beach today for one reason or another.
Due to lack of walk to beach, today's Omaha Beach photo of the day is therefore an old one. Omaha in the mid 1970s - an old photo we have at our place, not sure where it came from but it is up in the entrance way and always get scrutinised with nostalgia. It's not in the best of repair, but having it reconditioned will cost a small fortune. Therefore, it will stay as is. And continue to evoke memories.
Clouds billowing over the horizon prevented the moonrise being visible this evening. But I'd seen its splendour last night! Tick.
After the the sky turned inky black, the moon rose high and shone resplendently as it tracked overhead without a breath of wind in the air. Tick.
A front was supposed to bring horrible weather today, but it didn't eventuate.
Seems the Full Moon had other ideas and kept it at bay!
At one point today Michael and I went out on the deck with the binoculars to check out a strange sight on the water. Not too far off the shore was a boat - but what the hell was it? It looked like some sort of fishing boat with a camper van on the back of it. Truly!
We both stared and peered and deliberated but had never seen anything like it. Eventually we shrugged our shoulders and got back to work. Perhaps someone has a legitimate home on a boat on the water off the foreshore at Omaha!?!? It was gone soon after.
Dinner was Thai Chicken Panang.
Quiz Team the Shadee Bunch got together online for Believe It Or Not's online Wednesday quiz - The Chaser, Dark Destroyer Shaun Wallace, participated. A bit of fun, but a bit slow. We beat The Chaser!!! I've met him a couple of times - such a nice guy.
SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Actually, there are two.
One is a sadness that singer/songwriter John Prine has died, aged 73, from Coronavirus complications. Brett and I saw him play early 2019, his first time in NZ since 1993. It was an incredible concert by an extraordinarily outstanding musician and nice guy. Very glad we got to see him. His music will endure forever. RIP John Prine.
The second one is a creative Video Musing I created today - with a new software tool I've acquired. This is my very first thingumy like this and I really wasn't sure what I was doing. However, it didn't take too long to get to grips with it and was a heap of fun. The toughest part was refining the words - the concept came to me during a phone call with a friend in Melbourne and the words came as I created the video.
