Day 56, Level 1: Deadline, Byron Bay, Muriel and Ted
Today was a case of chasing that print deadline destination for the Omaha Newsletter - a labour of love that has consumed the past few weeks of my life ...!
As I always say, "Give me a deadline, it's much more valuable to me than time" - doesn't work for most, but definitely works for me. I will always, always, always meet that deadline, no matter what.
The Newsletter was due at the printers by 2pm today. So after a morning of to-ing and fro-ing sorting final tweaks, placement, wording, rewording, additions etc on the final copy ... it got sent off to the printers ... in typical Sally fashion ... at a few minutes to 2pm!
Phew. Sigh. Relax. Job done.
But relaxing was only for a moment - I was quickly onto my next writing project ...
But not before my computer man Simon returned with my repaired computer and installed it. Turns out his family has had a holiday bach near Omaha (but more rural) for years and so we had a good chat about the area. So glad my desktop is back up and running and Simon did a great job. Muchly grateful.
I stopped work after 7pm and went to cook spag bol. I was still eating it when it was time for a Zoom meeting (racehorse owners) - I apologised to the crew for eating spaghetti while on Zoom, and tried to dive off camera while doing so! It's an inelegant meal to eat while being watched!
We had a good meeting, and I enjoyed a good dinner.
Brett had been at the golf club AGM - he'd said he'd be home for dinner. But that wasn't the case, he got home at 9pm, after my meeting was over! Apparently it was a rather contentious - and obviously very long - AGM. Golly, I've been to numerous AGMs this year (and forever) - most of them have been over with half an hour - with no dramas or issues to be touched upon. Give me that type of AGM any day!
Here's are some photos of Byron Bay, Oz, when we were there in 2016 ... (random, I know!)

Late tonight I learnt UK has approved the first Covid vaccine and it's coming soon ... I'll be watching that space. It might just mean travel is possible again ... in time. Hopefully it will benefit Sam who is still over in London, heading towards winter.
SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Muriel and her brother Ted ...
Here's a delightful photo of Brett's mum Muriel (in her 90s, not long before she died) - and her brother Ted and his wife Helen, both also now deceased. Ted was a minister and took Muriel's funeral service - never have I been a part of such a candid and genuinely endearing service, he was outstanding (and in his 90s too!) Everyone was chuckling so much. His wife Helen was a lovely lady.
All these three have now departed this earth - but are fondly remembered.
