Day 13, Level 2: Motorhomes, misty skies, yellow light, and white leather seats!

Michelle and Grant slept peacefully in their motorhome on the section and in the morning we wandered down to the Omaha Beach Cafe for a spot of brunch. Great food down there and it was busy under Covid Level 2 restrictions.

A truly hi-spec luxury motorhome!

Walked along the beach - it had dawned very gloomy this morning but there was a bright strip of hazy yellow light out on the horizon. It was rather surreal - and a huge change to yesterday's perfect blue skies. Misty rain hung in the air but it never manifested into anything that got you wet and the slight breeze had a bit of chill in it, a far cry from the hot temperatures of yesterday!

People were paddle boarding and swimming. The tide was roaring in at a fast rate and the waves curled perfectly.

Rare photo of me!

I headed back to the city mid afternoon. Quiz in the evening - we got pipped for second. In and around all this, quite a bit of work achieved. Brett has had a hugely busy few days - with more to come. Several big deals going on, most of them rather complex.

Today's Inktober word is RODENT. Hmm, not the most inspiring prompt word ever! I have started an inkwork, but want to do a bit more in the morning, so will post image tomorrow.

There was another leader's debate today, Jacinda v Judith. Didn't see it as was at quiz - seems Jacinda won this one. Actually, I didn't hear or see any news today! Bliss!

Yesterday I had the unfortunate misfortune to listen to some talk-back radio - I think that's why I was so disparaging about the state of things in yesterday's rant! There is a large chunk of people with myopic insular views with a smug edge who can't/won't see outside their own little square of life - many of whom have never lived anywhere else and have no benchmarks. It makes me despair! NZ has a lot to offer, for sure, but it also lacks in many areas. Just like everywhere, and everyone!

I wait with baited breath to see what the post-election/post-lockdown era brings ...hopefully cheaper prices and a good spruce up around lots of issues which have been languishing for way too long.

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Motorhomes ...

I've never been the camper type and have never warmed to the idea of a motorhome holiday. However, having seen the inside of some of these huge road vehicles, I'm seeing the appeal. Michelle and Grant's motorhome is quite amazing. It's quite new, very well-appointed, cosy, and even has swish white leather seats! A proper shower, doors that close the bedroom and bathroom facilities off discreetly, and lots of hidey-holes for your things. Just a small kitchen but it would do the trick - but trying out the local cafes and takeaway joints is probably better! They take e-bikes with them and do lots of walking.

I'm yet to be fully convinced about the motorhome idea ...
