Day 8, Level 2.5: Hail, housework and gym slips

It was bright enough this morning but turned miserable in the afternoon - squalls and even a burst of hail. Short-lived and small hailstones, but it was fierce enough. And then gloomy all afternoon.

I was busy writing and editing and sorting work stuff all day. Finalised a newsletter that was, in all honesty, a bit overdue. But when you do do it voluntarily, it gets done when it gets done between other stuff. And that's that. We need less pressure, not more, especially when doing it from the goodness of one's heart for no reward other than the pleasure of sharing good news about people and info that people hopefully appreciate.

Did a bit of housework, washing etc (gotta be done). I'm loving my $39 cheap-as stick vacuum cleaner that works better than a Dyson! I wouldn't mind betting that it comes from the same factory. But costs $1,000 less than the Dyson model! Gotta be good!

Made a cheese & red onion quesadilla for lunch.

Made a pizza for dinner - chicken, mozzarella, parmesan, green capsicum, mushroom, walnuts, balsamic, chili sauce.

No scenic photos today. Here's Indi having an afternoon snooze. She came in soaking wet, I dried her, and she went off to her bed to recover.

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
The gym slip ...

Below is an old photo of  an Epsom Girls Grammar School (EGGS) class circa mid-1920s which appears in the EGGS newsletter, mentioned above, which I finished today.

Whoever thought this attire was apt for teenage school girls - of any era - should be ashamed of themselves.

I wore similar at intermediate school (winter uniform). Heavy, itchy, clunky fabric; unflattering bulky uncomfortable design. Utterly atrocious! Thankfully by the time I got to EGGS, they'd done away with the horrendous gym slip. But only just! Girls should have rebelled and refused to wear these atrocities - but back then girls weren't supposed to do anything so radical as challenge the status quo.
