Day 17, Level 2.5: Writing, quizzing (again) and toolkits

I barely moved from my office today. Was on the computer all day - writing, writing, writing - content for websites, newsletters, reports, emails ... with my various hats on. Everything from an annual review for a yearbook to a profile of a guy who had huge influence on the racing industry back in the 1970s for a web page. Plus sorting associated images. I've no idea what the weather was doing.

Tomorrow I have some reading and editing work to do ... and more writing. Life's a bit of a word-fest at the moment. And I love it - but it is quite exhausting, especially bouncing from one project to the next in quick succession, with deadlines.

I was very happy to tick off quite a bit on my to-do list today - but it's still long.

Ended up going to quiz tonight with the second team I occasionally join, at a different venue. It really is so nice to get out and socialise. Great fun. We came 4th.

Who knew that Thailand and Spain are two of the top ten countries that NZ imports cars from!?

Do you know what the Fitbit logo looks like? Neither did any of us!

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Toolkit ...

Found this photo - I remember it doing the rounds years ago and for some reason must have saved it. One of those silly gift ideas - that actually isn't so silly.

Thing is, this truly was my toolkit when I first lived in London! I was flatting with my friend Jill and we didn't have any hammers or screwdrivers. If something needed hammering eg hanging a picture etc - then I would find the ideal shoe from my collection, one with a solid grunty heel.

Bang, bang. Boom. Picture hung.

And if something needed tightening or being unscrewed etc, the kitchen drawer would always hold the ideal knife to do the trick. Even with a Philips screw.

Who needs tools when you have a resourceful team of two young females - with shoes and knives!? We managed well.

Even though these days there are hammers and screwdrivers galore at home, I still use these methods for little jobs - it's just as easy to grab a shoe or knife and, in a jiffy, job done!
