Day 15, Level 2.5: We stay in Level 2.5, and lemons

So today's announcement means we stay in Level 2.5 in Auckland. And the rest of the country stays in Level 2. For another week. At least. Then hopefully Auckland goes to L2 and rest of NZ goes to L1.

Distancing restrictions on planes and buses have been relaxed. People can sit in every seat.

So how is it that people can cram together on a plane, classrooms are full and people wander around supermarkets - yet you can only have a gathering of maximum 10 people in the safety of your home, and bars/restaurants have to work with spacing requirements, seated service and so many limits and restrictions? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Barely left my laptop today - except when neighbour Annette arrived seeking garam masala. It's a spice I use all the time and I have plenty! Otherwise work, research, writing, and chairing an evening Zoom meeting. No beach walk today - it was kind of windy and overcast and I was busy.

I did get good news today in that racehorse owners will be allowed on course for the meeting on 26th Sept - when the horse I have a wee share in is set to race. Yay. But then again, things can change.

As with everything that is planned during these Covid days ... Que sera sera - with anticipation and a huge dose of circumspection!

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Lemons ...

One of the most versatile foods on the planet. Whatever the varietal, juicy or zesty, they tick all the boxes. Nothing better than lemon chicken Chinese style. Lemon squeezed over fresh whitebait fritters. Lemon cake with lemon drizzle. Lemon slice in a G&T, yes. Hot lemon drink as a tonic, makes you feel better already. Limoncello.

Oh, the ideas and magic that the lemon can generate are boundless ...

Two types of Lemons from the local area
