Day 31, Level 1 (Thursday 9th July): Homes and hotels, and donuts

Hmm, for some reason yesterday's post lost its text. It was only a short one, but it wasn't supposed to be that short! I have rectified matters and done a proper post.

Very cold today and I had mostly an inside day except for an hour or so when I popped along the road to visit friend Lianne and see their newly completed house renovations, which had a hiatus during lockdown. The place looked fabulous, they've done a really great job.
Anna (from Wellington) called in too, so we got another chance to catch up. Anna, Lianne and I all went through school together. We met on day one when we were 5yo and are still great friends today. In fact, our names even run together rather nicely in one hit - as in SallyAnna (all our names are contained in there - including my middle name too, as it's Ann). That has always amused me!

I went to another quiz again tonight - joined friend's team at a different venue - we had a great time and came second. Shoulda won dammit, but we changed our minds too many times in one round. Jolly good fun all round.

Because I can't travel, I was looking through some old travel photos. Here are a few from our time in Morocco.

Villa de L'O - outside Marrakesch
We stayed here a couple of  nights, it was fabulous.

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:

Donuts! It was the answer to tonight's Ponderous Puzzle - you get a set of clues throughout the night and the earlier you guess the correct answer, the more points you get. We got 10/10 as someone mentioned it and we all thought it was a good first stab. Bingo!

I'm not so much of a fan of donuts with icing and sprinkles and whatnot on top. But I do love a good cream donut. My favourite are the ones from the little Benson Road bakery - he has the formula spot on. Cooked just right, the perfect amount of sugar coating and cream, and not too much jam. Yum. I treat myself every so often.
