Day 47, Level 1: Mum turns 80, and Mother & Daughters

Today, 25th July, is Mum's birthday. She would have turned 80 today. Instead of having a special birthday celebration, we just have memories. It's 13 years since she died.

Today - home stuff in the morning, trip to Matakana market, Vicki & Lyle came up to Omaha for the night.
We had some friends over. Toasted mothers in heaven. A lovely evening, mostly sitting outside, believe it or not. Our outdoor heater works brilliantly.
Brett had gone back to Auckland to play golf for the afternoon, came back up to Omaha later in the evening.

This is a photo of an artwork I did not long after Mum died; it's called Mother and Daughters.

Mother & Daughters

SHARE-NOTE OF THE DAY:
Mothers and daughters ...
I only have sons, but as a daughter, I came to understand so much more about that mother/daughter bond when I became a mother myself.

A beautiful dusk tonight, with a bright crescent moon ...
